Stephanie M. Carpenter, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University. Dr. Carpenter is a social and health psychologist by training. For nearly four years, she was the Associate Director of the Data Science for Dynamic Intervention Decision-Making (d3) center and a Researcher/Fellow in the Quantitative Methodology Program at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research Survey Research Center. Prior to this, she was an NIMH Postdoctoral Trainee in Emotion Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Stephanie received a joint Ph.D. in Social Psychology and Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and B.A. and M.S. degrees in Psychology from the University of Oregon.

Her research examines the role of emotion and cognition in engagement behavior. Much of her current work is concerned with investigating ways to promote health equity through the use of experimental methods to optimize adaptive health behavior change interventions.
